Located at the northern tip of the island of Oléron, discover the Chassiron Lighthouse allowing you to locate the entrance to the Antioche sluice. It is at the top of this emblematic building of the island, 46 meters high and after having climbed the 224 steps of the Lighthouse, that you will obtain a superb view of the island of Oléron, the ocean, the Rochelaise coast, the island of Ré, the island of Aix and Fort Boyard.

We would advise you too little to visit the citadel of Château-d'Oléron, built in 1630, it has a rich history and offers superb views. 

And its famous fort Boyardville

This small village on the island of Oléron takes its name from its proximity to the famous Fort Boyard and from the fact that the materials necessary for its construction were stored in the town. The city is known for its fine sandy beaches where you can practice many water activities. You can get as close as possible to Fort Boyard during a sea cruise, some of which depart from Boyardville.

The Marais aux Oiseaux is located in the municipalities of Dolus-d'Oléron and Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron. It is a 10 hectare park which houses two structures: the discovery park for educational purposes and a wildlife center. A 400 hectare wetland The Douhet Marsh

To the north of the island of Oléron, go to the marais du Douhet, a wetland of more than 400 hectares, with remarkable biodiversity. Formerly a mecca for salt manufacturing, the Marais du Douhet is now an exceptional natural site where you can observe gulls, seagulls, cows, little egrets, marsh harriers and gray herons.
